SA athletes in action at World Championships

South Africa has nine athletes doing duty on day two of the IAAF World Championships in London on Saturday.

Morning session (all times SA)
11am: Shot put qualifying – Orazio Cremona, Jaco Engelbrecht
What they need to do: They must throw 20.75m for automatic qualification or be among the top 12.

11:45am: 400m heats – Wayde van Niekerk (11.54am), Pieter Conradie (12.03pm)
What they need to do: Finish in the top three in their respective heats or be among the next six fastest finishers.

12:45pm: 100m heats – Carina Horn (1:12pm)
What she needs to do: Finish in the top three in the heat or be among the next six fastest finishers.

Afternoon session
20:05pm: 100m semi-final – Simbine
What he needs to do: Finish in the top two in the semi-final or be one of the next two fastest finishers in the semi-finals.

20:35pm: 1500m semi-finals – Caster Semenya
What she needs to do: Finish in the first five in her heat or be one of the next two fastest finishers.

21:05pm: Long jump final – Manyonga, Samaai

22:45pm: 100m final – Simbine (dependent on semi-final result)
