Boost for Team Barloworld

Team Barloworld are weighing up their options of competing Tirreno-Adriatico, scheduled to run from March 11 to 17. Barloworld had been left off the list of invited teams to Tirreno-Adriatico, Eroica, Milan-San Remo and the Giro d’Italia. Getting an invitation now to Tirreno-Adriatico, is a good sign that the team may eventually be invited to all these races, especially as some teams have failed to obtain a wild card license from the governing body UCI because of problems over passports. Team Barloworld, however, complied with all passport requirements and were handed a wild card for the season.
This year the Tirreno-Adriatico, a seven-day stage race, will begin with the first stage Cecina-Capannori of 147km and finish in San Banedetto del Tronto. Before that however, Team Barloworld will be competing in the Giro Del Capo, as well as the sport’s biggest participative race in the world, the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour, in Cape Town on 8 March.
