Ernst Van Dyk

Ernst has competed with the world’s best for close to 3 decades. During his career he has participated in 7 Paralympic games as well as the 2000 Olympic Games. He has won 2 Paralympic gold, 3 silver and two bronze medals across 3 different sporting codes.

During his career Ernst won the prestigious Boston Marathon 10 times amongst his many marathon victories. He also won three UCI world championship titles. He was awarded the Laureus World Sports Awards for Sportsperson with a Disability of the year for 2006.

In 2010 Ernst was awarded the Order of Ikhamanga in silver for his achievements in sport. Ernst is currently living in Paarl with his wife Suzanne and two daughters Lexi and Sunel. Ernst is currently working for Össur South Africa as national sales manager.
