Gold, bronze for Budler

Talented Eastern Cape gymnast, Bianca Budler produced a stunning performance at the first FIG Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling World Cup in Ghent, Belgium at the weekend by taking a bronze in the Women’s Tumbling World Cup event competition.

Budler also won a gold medal in the International Double Mini Competition, which was also linked to the World Cup Competition.

Budler who won four gold medals at the 10th African Gymnastics Championships at Walvis Bay, Namibia last month, continues to display her medal-winning ability at the young age of 18.

The multi talented athlete, who trains at Mandy’s Tumbling and Trampoline Club in Port Elizabeth was ranked eighth in the women’s tumbling world ranking in 2009. Her performance at this World Cup event will see her jump a few places in the rankings this year.

Her two medals and her improved world ranking will improve her chances of representing South Africa at the 2013 World Games in Cali, Colombia where her goal is to win a further medal for South Africa.
