Hunter moves up

Robbie Hunter rose to ninth overall after the fourth stage of the Tour Down Under in Australia Friday.

This after finishing 14th overall on the 149.5 kilometre ride between Norwood and Goolwa.

Hunter was credited with the same time as stage winner Andre Greipel of Germany, who covered the distance in 3hr 30min 29sec.

The race still has two stages to run before finishing in Adelaide on Sunday.

Greipel is also the overall leader of the tour having been in the saddle for 13:23:57. After Hunter’s good showing his ninth spot means the Garmin-Transitions rider is only 30sec down on the lead.

Fellow South African Daryl Impey finished the stage in 76th spot yesterday, 54sec off the pace.

The Team RadioShack rider is currently in 44th spot on the General Clasification, 1:49 adrift.

His renowned teammate, seven-time Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong placed 50th yesterday and lies 29th overall.
