Lessons learnt as Amajimbos go down

The Amajimbos men’s national Under-17 team have lost 5-0 to the Bloemfontein Celtics’ MultiChoice Diski team in a practice match at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium.

Amajimbos moved to Bloemfontein following their failed trip to Swaziland due to a bereavement in the Executive Committee of the Swati nation.

The match gave head coach Molefi Ntseki great insight into the level of understanding where the players are at in their first training camp of the year.

All the players got a chance to play and an assessment will be made ahead of Saturday’s second practice match.

‘This was a great practice match for us and exactly what we needed. We’re happy with most of the things we saw and this will assist to fast track the development of the players,’ said Ntseki.

’I’m happy with the organisational structure the players displayed but not with the individual errors that were committed by some of the boys, which led to us conceding the goals.

‘This is a training camp and therefore we will not be too hard on them, as we want them to express themselves, while enjoying what they do.’

Amajimbos now play Bloemfontein Celtic’s U19 side on Saturday (4pm) at Manaung’s Siwelele Park.
