Team South Africa captain Darren Lill retained the General Classification lead after stage four of the Tour of Rwanda, writes Mark Etheridge.
The stage saw 60 riders starting the 152.9 kilometre ride from Huye to Karongi.
After the ride along the shores of Lake Kivu, Canadian Bruno Langlois came up tops. It was his second win on the nine-day tour, having won the prologue in Kigali on Sunday.
Six Eritrean riders were among the top 10 of the stage, showing their liking of the hills.
After some mechanical problems in the early stages Lill, a member of Team SA at the 2011 All Africa Games, was soon at the head of the chasing peloton as Langlois and Eritrean Metkel Eyob formed a two-man breakaway.
Ten kilometres from the finish Yob punctured, leaving Langlois to ride solo to the finish.
Cape Town based Lill still hangs on to the yellow jersey but with less than a minute separating the top 10 riders it’s anyone’s guess who will be king in Kigali on Sunday.
