Must-win for Moodie

Wes Moodie and Dick Norman will be looking to bounce back from defeat when they play their second match of the season-ending ATP Barclays World Tour Finals in London on Wednesday, writes Mark Etheridge.

On Monday the seventh seeded South African/Belgian pairing ran into an on-form second seeds combination of Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic, being blasted away in straight sets in under an hour.

This time out they take on the fifth seeds, Lukasz Kubot and Oliver Marach in a Group B clash. The good news though for Moodie and Norman is that they at least have the knowledge that they have beaten the Polish/Austrian combination already this year.

That was at the Monte Carlo Open when they won in two sets. They have however also tasted defeat to the same duo, in the Valencia Open quarter-final where they also went down in straight sets.

Kubot and Marach have qualified for their second straight World Tour Finals.

In Tuesday’s shock of the day eighth-seeded Poles Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski fought their way to to an epic 6-2 6-7 10-8 win against the world’s No1 doubles duo of Bob and Mike Bryan to end a three-match run of losses against the American twins. The result means that Group A is not a done deal yet.
