Moodie goes down

Fifth-seeded Wesley Moodie and Belgian partner Dick Norman have lost a nail-biting quarter-final 4-6 7-6 (6) 10-6 against unseeded Austrian pair Julian Knowles and Jurgen Melzer at the Shanghai Masters tennis tournament.

South African Moodie and Norman were just a few points away from a straight-sets victory.

The third-seeded combination of India’s Mahesh Bhupathi and Bahamas’ Mark Knowles lost their semi-final 7-6 (2) 6-2 to the French pair of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Julien Benneteau, who usually devote their attention to earning success in singles competition.
