By Mark Etheridge

Our top-ranked doubles tennis player, Wesley Moodie has lost in the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Masters in Ohio, US.

Moodie, ranked 25th on the ATP doubles rankings teamed up with giant Belgian Dick Norman and they went down to tournament second seeds, Bob and Mike Bryan of the US.

They lost in straight sets, 7-6 (8) 7-5. The Bryan brothers will now play fourth seeds Mahesh Buphati of India and Max Mrinyi of Belarus in the final.

Moodie can be happy with this week’s work though and is bound to move up the ATP rankings after making the semis. He and Norman also won US$35,470 for reaching the semi.s

Moodie is using the Masters as a tune-up to the US Open at Flushing Meadows at the end of the month and then our crucial Davis Cup clash against Germany in Stuttgart next month.
