They already have a doubles gold medal to their name but on Sunday No1 seed Alwande Sikhosana and No4 sed Leon Els will be on opposite sides of the net as they meet in the final of the wheelchair tennis singles at the African Para Games in Accra, Ghana.
On Saturday Sikhosana and Els, the No1 seeds, beat the Moroccan pair of No2 seeds Lhaj Bouckartacha and Said Himan 6-4 6-2 to win the gold medal.
On Sunday the unbeaten Team SA women’s wheelchair basketballers play their fifth match of the Games when they face the DR Congo at the Eden Heights Sports Complex.
South Africa have won all four of their matches so far, beating Zambia (64-6), Ghana (51-31), Morocco (40-20) and Kenya (48-15).
The DR Congo will be tough opponents however, with their wins over common opponents in Zambia, Morocco and Ghana almost mirroring those of Team SA. They’ve only lost one game, against tournament favourites Algeria.
