South Africa’s Chanel Simmonds has reached the final of the Digicall Futures 2 tennis tournament in Stellenbosch.
Simmonds once again had no mercy and sent French qualifier Lou Adler packing 6-4 6-0.
She’ll now face another qualifier, Salma Ewing from America, in the final after Ewing won her semi-final against Nina Stadler from Switzerland 6-3 6-1.
Simmonds also won last week’s tournament at the same venue.
In the men’s draw Frenchman Leny Mitjana reached the final again, but this time he got the better of last week’s champion, South Africa’s Nik Scholtz.
This means a new champion will be crowned on Sunday. Schultz, who won last weeks’ tournament, went down in three sets 3-6 7-6 6-3.
Mitjana will now face the second seed Takanyi Garanganga from Zimbabwe. Garanganga beat his countryman Benjamin Lock in straight sets.
