Team SA were again in action on Saturday at the 13th African Games. They started the day with five bronze medals, but got amongst the gold and silver in Accra. Haylee Preen won gold in the women’s road race cycling. In the swimming pool Team SA made an immediate impression and secured seven medals – four of them gold, from Caitlyn de Lange, Clayton Jimmie, Catherine van Rensburg (the 1500m freestyle in a Games record time) and the 4×100 freestyle mixed relay.
