There are 15 different Team SA members taking part across five different sports on day three of the Paralympics on Friday. It could be the day South Africa gets on to the medals table with Reinhardt Hamman having a chance of securing that honour when he competes in the men’s javelin (F38) final.
In the evening sessions, the women’s swimming 200m (T37) final is being contested, where both Liezel Gouws and Sheryl James will be looking to be involved. So, too, Christian Sadie (pictured) in the men’s 200m IM (SM7) and Alani Ferreira in the women’s 400m freestyle (S13).
In the evening athletics, Charl du Toit, who shared Team SA flag-carrying duties at the opening ceremony, could be racing for a medal in the men’s 100m (T37 category).
