World Games: How Team SA Fared (Day 3)

The World Games continued in Birmingham, Alabama, and Team SA were in action in the air sports. Chris Teague was competing in the canopy parachuting.

Basically, it’s when a skydiver tries to land in a specific area, a long stretch of water called a swoop pond. It’s a lot harder than it sounds as participants have to control their canopy at speeds up to 160km/h after they leave the plane. The contestants are then scored based on speed, zone accuracy and distance. Then, there is a freestyle round where they are judged on technical difficulty, presentation and landing.

Parachuting – Canopy Piloting Finals, Round 2, Freestyle: Chris Teague finished 9th out of 34 competitors with a score of 78.400
