World Games: How Team SA Fared (Day 7)

There were three Team SA athletes in action on Thursday at the World Games in Birmingham, Alabama. Travis Fisher competed in the waterski and wakeboard preliminary round and qualified for the final to be held on Friday.

Sport climbing also had action with Chris Crosser and Lauren Mukheibir taking part in the men’s and women’s speed climbing qualification, respectively.

Here is how Team SA’s athletes fared on Thursday:

WATERSKI
Waterski and wakeboard preliminary round:
Travis Fisher placed 8th in qualifying and reached Friday’s final. “I’m super excited,” Fisher said. “It’s a tricky venue but I’m determined to give it my best shot. Everything is well organised and going well,” he said.

SPORT CLIMBING
Men’s Speed Climbing, Qualification: Chris Crosser placed 12th in the first round with a time of 10.391 and then 11th in the second round with a time of 7.789. He didn’t qualify for the final
Women’s Speed Climbing, Qualification: Lauren Mukheibir placed 12th in the first round with a time of 16.931 and then 9th in the second round with a time of 15.844. She didn’t qualify for the final
