How they fared: Team SA on Day 5 (Wed) at CYG

Team SA are involved in five different sporting codes at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday. They started the day with 12 medals – six gold, three silver and three bronze. They added to that tally with one silver and four bronze medals. This is how they performed.

ATHLETICS
Women’s javelin, final: Anli Engelbrecht finished with a BRONZE medal after a throw of 50.12m
Women’s 400m hurdles, final: Tumi Ramokgopa finished third to take BRONZE with a time of 1:00.63

Men’s 5-8 Classification match: Jayden Cupido and Valitham Deloshen won 2-1 against Rio Victor and Tafari Charles of Saint Lucia (16-21, 21-16, 23-21)
Men’s 5-6 Classification match: Jayden Cupido and Valitham Deloshen lost 2-0 to Jett Rocker-Graham and Mitchell Croft of Australia (21-14, 21-15). They finished sixth overall

Men’s 200m IM, final: Kian Keylock claimed SILVER with a time of 2:03.84, behind Scotland’s Matthew Ward (2:01.70)
Women’s 50m freestyle, heat 1: Cassidy Burgess won her heat in 27.88, placing her 19th overall and missing out on the final
