SASCOC PRESIDENT BARRY HENDRICKS APPOINTED MEMBER OF DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION, ANOCA
The South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) congratulates SASCOC President, Barry Hendricks on his recent appointment as a member of the Development Commission for the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA).
The nomination of a 13-member committee which comprises of members from South Africa, Nigeria, Morocco, Ethiopia, Uganda, Algeria, Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, Ghana, Namibia, Mauritius and Zambia came into effect from 4 March 2021 subsequent to a resolution made by the executive committee of ANOCA in a conference held on 29 December 2020.
The main purpose of this committee is to find ways and strategies to functionalise the operations of the commission to boost the development of sports in Africa.
We wish Mr Hendricks, together with the entire committee, well in their quest in driving pathways to develop sport on the African continent. We believe he will bring his wealth of experience in sport and contribute immensely to the commission.
