Team SA started the day with three medals in the bank, thanks to the gold by para swimmer Nathan Hendricks and the bronzes by both the men’s and women’s 4x100m freestyle squad and are represented in six sports on Saturday’s day three of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
There are more realistic medal possibilities in the pool with Pieter Coetze and Ruard van Renen the fastest two qualifiers into the 50m backstroke final, and Erin Gallagher second fastest qualifier heading into the women’s 50m butterfly final.
