At the age of 36 Nododomzi “Jonathan” Ntutu turned back the clock. Right back to 10.83 seconds. Enough to win another Commonwealth Games T11/12 100m gold medal. Quicker than he ran when winning the title in 11.02 in Gold Coast four years ago. The fastest para-athlete South Africa has ever produced did it again.
Jonathan Ntutu won gold in the men’s T11/T12 100m while Jovan van Vuuren won bronze as Team SA took their medals tally to 22 at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Candice Lill has been winning races for longer than she can remember. Probably even before that as well. But for the 30-year-old South African with a CV that snakes its way around the corner, winning bronze at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham will be something she never forgets.
Akani Simbine won men's 100m silver and para-athlete Charl du Toit also won silver in the men's T37/T38 100m final, while Candice Lill bagged a bronze medal in the women's mountain bike cross-country race. The Para Women’s Pairs Lawn Bowls B6-B8 team of Victoria van der Merwe and Desiree Levin also won a bronze.
