The much anticipated South African MX National Championships are set to take place at Dirt Bronco, in Krugersdorp on Saturday.
While there maybe many divisions competing during what is bound to be an exciting day of riding, all eyes will be firmly set on the much contested premier MX1 division. Sand track lovers will also be treated to action by high school, ladies, pro mini and senior support divisions as well as the highly contested MX2 and MX3 divisions.
Caleb Tennant who has been having a good run this year will be tested in the final event to retain his status as the current leading man.
David Goosen has set his focus on the champion title and plans to take that away from Tennant.
‘I’m only 16 points out from the lead in MX1 going into the last round, so there’s definitely hope I can make it happen for 2018,’ said Goosen. ‘I’m going in fighting, till the final lap and give it my best shot.’
Third placed Tristan Purdon, from the Eastern Cape still has an opportunity to jump to second place, and is determined to stage a top performance at Dirt Bronco.
Both Goosen and Purdon have been putting in the extra hours, in preparation for this event, and do not want to let a final big push slip and go to waste.
‘For me, the goal is to win all four heats at this event,’ said Purdon. ‘So, its going to be an exciting last round.’
