Following their great win over England in New Zealand at the weekend, the SPAR Proteas continued their winning momentum on Wednesday… only in another country!
Suva, Fiji, was the venue for the match as SA thrashed their Pacific Island opponents 72-31.
That’s a record winning margin between these two nations.
The previous biggest margin was just 14 goals, when South Africa won 47-33 in Pretoria back in 2009.
Wednesday’s win was a fast-paced encounter, which saw Danelle Lochner make her debut at goal attack, also with runs for Zanelle Vimbela at goal defence and Nadia Uys-Pienaar at centre and wing attack.
Lochner was part of Team SA’s victorious netball side at last year’s AUSC Region 5 Games in Luanda, Angola, in the Jenny van Dyk-coached side.
