Led by 2009 World Games player Siyoli Waters, Team South Africa set up a knock-out round clash with Hong Kong at the Women’s World Team Squash Championships in Nimes, France on Tuesday.
This after a 3-0 win over 19th seeds China in their final pool match.
Seeded 14th for the event, South Africa now face a far tougher task against the fourth-seeded Hong Kong outfit.
In Tuesday’s matches left-hander Diana Haynes was the only SA player not to drop a game as she beat Gu Jinyue in straight games. Earlier Milnay Louw had won 4-1 against Xiu Chen and then Waters, ranked 47th in the world, won a tight clash with Li Dongjin before going through 11-2 4-11 13-11 13-11.
Top-seeded England take on 15th seeded Wales while second seeded Egypt will face 16th seeds Wales.
The next version of the World Games will take place next year in Cali, Colombia.
