South Africa is part of the 33rd FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, from 7-10 November.
This is where the world’s best gymnasts from approximately more than 40 countries will be representing their countries in the battle for the world titles.
The championships will feature discipline categories and age events in trampoline, tumbling and double-mini for senior gymnasts.
The South African Gymnastics Federation has officially announced the names of its gymnasts who will represent South Africa.
Offering Tlaka will spearhead Team SA as the most experienced gymnast there; he will be leading Onke Mangele and Star Mapeka at the worlds.
Tlaka will be competing in the double-mini trampoline competition. A year ago he participated at the 32nd FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships that was held in Sofia.
Mapeka and Mangele will take part in the individual trampoline event as well as in the double-mini trampoline event.
They will be joined by coach Lee Budler and Tiaan van der Walt as a judge.
The Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships will be followed by the 26th FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Age Group Competitions, scheduled to commence from 15-18 November.
