We're well and truly into the festive season now but I'd like to take a quick look back at latest developments as 2010 draws to an end.
THE PRESIDENT'S VOICE
Since my last message I've had a very fruitful meeting with our tertiary institutions in Stellenbosch to firm up the working relationship between them and SASCOC, in the lead-up to London, 2012.
After our successful performance at the Commonwealth Games in India I went straight to Acapulco in Mexico for the Association of National Olympic Committees congress where I made an input on the "Autonomy of Sport " which was well received.
SASCOC President Gideon Sam reflects on Team South Africa's performance at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
Well done Chad. What a fantastic swim and what an achievement for our first medal to go to an 18 year-old with the potential to become a huge star. And what more is there to say about Natalie?
Since my last update I've been getting around and about the country, as is always the case in this position and just recently I've had the opportunity to be part of a whole range of sporting events and activities.
The Fifa Soccer World Cup is over and we as South Africans will be wondering what hit us! After waiting for many so years since the announcement that we would host the 2010 edition of the World Cup, we have finally done and dusted it.
It's hard to believe that 2010 is moving along so quickly. The coming months will see us focusing very much on preparations for the inaugural Youth Olympics in Singapore and then the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
