Raven Klaasen’s Wimbledon experience came to an end on Monday as he and partner Rajeev Ram crashed out.
There was no seventh heaven on Court Seven for the seventh seeded South African/American combination as they lost in three sets.
Their vanquishers were Chile’s Hans Podlipnik-Castillo and Andrei Vasilevski of Belarus. Final score was 6-4 7-6 (5) 6-3.
Story of the stats tells us that aces were shared at six apiece, as were double faults (four each). Points won on first service were 65% to Klaasen/Ram compared to 65% to their opponents, proof of just how close this match actually was.
The teams were out on court for four minutes in excess of two hours.
Klaasen and Ram will take £26.500 as reward for reaching the third round.
Their victors go on to meet Croatians Nikola Mektic and Franco Skugor in the quarter-finals.
