On a recent visit to Kuwait and Qatar, the importance of resources for sport development was once again underlined by the two governments' willingness to invest in infrastructure and top personnel.
THE PRESIDENT'S VOICE
Welcome to 2015 and what should hopefully be another great sporting year for South Africa.
It's game on for the Olympic Movement after all the recommendations were adopted unanimously at the extended session meeting of the IOC in Monaco, a meeting that I was fortunate to attend.
As I began this update it was a few minutes before we were due to pay tribute to Professor Pat Duffy who assisted us with the Coaches Framework in the country.
It's been a long time since we've had to endure so many tough days at the office here at Olympic House.
Following SASCOC's Annual General Meeting at Olympic House, the road ahead for our Federations is quite clear.
The post Commonwealth Games and Youth Olympics period have left us pondering about how we should approach the putting together of future composite teams to represent South Africa.

The Commonwealth Games are over!
Medals have been won (40 of them in all) and the athletes have been recognised for their performances. The last act for now was the parade through the streets of Johannesburg to show off the medals to the public.
And what a parade it was! People lined the streets along the route…
The 2014 Commonwealth Games preparations have been done.
